Today we ski-toured to the Col Charvet (2380 m), the Col between Mont Charvet and Mont Chombas. The best description that I’ve found in net is this – Col des Chombas, but it is not exactly what we did.
Briefly our route was: Parking at Auberge nordique at Troncs (1180 m) – Mur des Troncs – Charvet (stopping at the col (2380 m), not the summit) – descent at the bottom of combe (1600 m) – Return at Auberge nordique via mur des Troncs.
For us the snow conditions seemed to be perfect. However, as I’ve got to know later, this morning a man was killed by avalanche at La Combe de Grand Crêt – the place where we skied a day before.
Once again to be convinced, that it’s a small world. On the Col Charvet I’ve met guys from CERN who knows my husband.
