Col d’Ubine-Pointe de Lachau. Ski tour with UniGe

P1010739

Today we were with the guide Yann Nussbaumer. It was really awful at 6am in Geneva. Dark, rainy and cold. To add the final bit to the picture Yann backed our UniGE bus at the parking and bumped my car. Not a very good beginning.

As the weather was bad our initial plans changed. Yann decided to go to Chapelle d’Abondance.

As we were approaching the place it was getting better and better. Mountains, forest, fresh snow…

We started from the parking Chalets de Chevenne (1217 m) and went up to the pass Pas de la Bosse (1816 m). There were not a lot of snow at the beginning and old avalanche traces everywhere. But the more we went up the better snow became. From the pass Pas de la Bosse we went down and then again up to the pass Col d’Ubine (1694 m). The idea was to try to reach the small summit Pointe de Lachau (1962 m) which we nearly did.

It was a good day!
